Township of Bonnechere Valley
We have not resolved which company distributes electricity in Bonnechere Valley.
Electricity service is not in question — every Ontario municipality has a distributor, and Hydro One is the one of last resort across rural and northern Ontario. This is a gap in our data about who bills, not a town without power.
Not yet priced
We cannot yet price natural gas in Bonnechere Valley.
This is a gap in our data, not a statement about the town — see the note below for exactly what is missing.
Recorded source notes
Enbridge holds a franchise here — the OEB's franchise map lists Bonnechere Valley — but the placemark's Rate Zone attribute is empty, so the regulator has not said which of Enbridge's four rate zones bills this township and no bill can be priced from it. The franchise is new, which is why: on 30 May 2024 the OEB granted Enbridge leave to construct 22 km of pipeline for the Eganville Community Expansion (EB-2023-0201, an NGEP Phase 2 project for roughly 723 forecast new customers) and in the same decision approved a new municipal franchise agreement and certificate of public convenience and necessity for this township. Every other Renfrew County municipality with a franchise reads EGD, which makes EGD likely — recorded, deliberately not applied.
Electricity distributors come from the Ontario Energy Board’s own licensed service-area map, matched against Statistics Canada municipal boundaries. Natural gas rate zones are published by the OEB per franchise area. Rate zones within a distributor — Alectra’s five, for instance — are matched from each zone’s legacy utility, each one individually sourced.
This resolves to the municipality, not to your street address. Where a boundary runs through a town we show the recorded suppliers rather than picking one, and your own bill is the final word on which you are on.
