No natural gas distribution
McKellar has no natural gas distribution.
With no gas main, homes here heat with propane, heating oil, wood or electricity. Propane is delivered and billed by tank, so there is no regulated distribution rate to compare.
Recorded source notes
No natural gas distribution in McKellar. The Ontario Energy Board's natural-gas franchise map records no franchise area here, and under the Municipal Franchises Act a distributor cannot construct or operate works to supply gas in an Ontario municipality without a franchise by-law the OEB has approved — so there is no distributor authorised to serve it. McKellar is also absent from both registers of where gas is currently being extended: Ontario's Natural Gas Expansion Program (Phases 1 and 2) and Enbridge's own list of community-expansion projects.
Electricity distributors come from the Ontario Energy Board’s own licensed service-area map, matched against Statistics Canada municipal boundaries. Natural gas rate zones are published by the OEB per franchise area. Rate zones within a distributor — Alectra’s five, for instance — are matched from each zone’s legacy utility, each one individually sourced.
This resolves to the municipality, not to your street address. Where a boundary runs through a town we show the recorded suppliers rather than picking one, and your own bill is the final word on which you are on.
